Mini Desk Calendar

Deflecto Mini Calendar 2976

Today’s project is one of those quick & easy projects that just make me smile.

You can put together this Mini Desk Calendar in just a few minutes.

I started with a 3″ x 4″ clear acrylic frame from Deflecto Craft Solutions

and a Mini Tear Off Calendar from Taylored Expressions.

Along with some left over scrapbook paper from a class I was working on.

And… because the paper is inserted inside the frame you can easily change

it out with the seasons.  You can make the mini desk calendar with the acrylic

frame upright or laying down.  Either one is cute.

Lucky Day Frame

St. Patricks Day Frame 2722

There’s something about turning the calendar page to March that makes me feel happy.

Even though we got snow on March 1rst and ice on March 3rd, I can’t help but feel

that Spring’s just right around the corner.  And… that really makes me happy!

I don’t usually decorate for St. Patrick’s Day…

but after getting this green bordered frame from Deflecto and seeing this “Lucky Day”

collection from Authentique Paper, I was inspired.

I did a little fussy cutting with the hat and shamrocks and adhered them directly onto the front of

the frame.  I also water-colored directly onto the cream paper flower to make it match the flowers

on the scrapbook paper.

Pretty in Pink

Little Miss Serenity, so Pretty in Pink.

I was shopping with my sister the day she/we found this pretty pink outfit.

As any good sister would, I helped her justify why she really needed it.

I’m good at that sort of thing.

I told her “just think of how cute it’ll look in pictures”.

I was right, wasn’t I?

It’s hard to believe my sweet little niece will be four in just a couple of weeks.

Such a Sweetie!

Deflecto Mini Album 1557

I was supposed to be crawling into bed last night, when inspiration struck.

Happens to me all the time.   Does that ever happen to you?

So….In about a 1/2 hour time, I whipped up this cute little Mini Album using a couple of

Flexible Pouches from Deflecto Craft Solutions.

These pouches made the perfect cover for my mini album.

I used two pouches for my cover and inserted older left over Valentine scrapbook paper from

Authentique Paper.  I cut several inside pages and bound it together with my Bind It All and 1/2″ coil.

Fun, Simple and Cute.  (if I say so myself)

Deflecto December Design Team Goodies

Deflecto Shelf 825

Now that Christmas is over, I’m starting to think organizing again.

For a quick solution for a constant problem, I used a couple of Wall Mount Supply Organizers

from Deflecto Craft Solutions as a place to gather supplies for upcoming projects.

I added them onto the side of my IKEA shelving unit next to my desk.

Because I have commitment issues when it comes to screwing things into furniture.

I used Small Removable Hooks from Command.

Worked great.  Now, I can move the wall shelves to a different place if my needs change.

Command Clear Mini Hooks

As I’ve mentioned before, one of the high light each month is when I get my Design Team Goodies

from Deflecto.  I love how much care they use when packing each box.

This month, before I tore into the boxes, I remembered to take a few pictures of how they arrived.

This was on the front of the box.  Every month a different personalized label.

Each package comes packed with tissue paper and seal.  Just like a Christmas gift.

This month’s box actually came with a wrapped Christmas present.

This company knows how to make a girl feel special.

Along with the wall files we also received additional wall pockets, desk file holders, various

goodies and a large office floor mat.  As the new year progresses and I dig out from all my

Christmas and CHA crafting, I’ll be doing more organizing with my Deflecto goodies.

Can’t wait to get started.

Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.

Powerful Words, Great Advice.

Words I need to be reminded of everyday, not just at Thanksgiving time.

As a gift for you, I created the below graphic using a free photo editing site,

with no watermark so that you can save it onto your computer.

I printed the below image out as a 5″ x 7″ photo and put it in one of the Beveled Edged Craft Frames

that I received from Deflecto Craft Solutions.

Enjoy!

Pictures from Sue’s Holiday Workshop

2014 Holiday Workshop Group Pic #18

As promised here are the pictures from this years Holidays Workshop.

I must say that I liked all three of the group’s pictures.  (not one eye closed)

2014 Holiday Workshop Group Collage

Thank you, to all the wonderful ladies that came this year to my Holiday Workshop,

I had so much fun.  O.K., I have fun every year.

But…I think this year’s group which included 9 new people was even more fun and enthusiastic

than ever.  I loved spending my Saturday creating with you all.

I was on such an adrenaline high after it was all over that I didn’t fall asleep until well after midnight.

For those of you that couldn’t come this year, we missed you, I hope to see you next year.

I love the chalk board frames that I received from my Deflecto Design Team box this month.

They worked wonderfully with my theme.

I made the Candy Cane Suckers with the help of my adorable grandson, Nick, who got sprinkles

everywhere and my lovely daughter-in-law, Bonnie.

I wouldn’t have been able to pull this all off with out her help.  Thank You, Bonnie!

(The Candy Cane idea is from Pinterest, you can see the pin here)

Thank You Again to everyone who came and helped.  (I kind of wish it wasn’t all over.)

Just another day on the farm…

nicks 4th birthday 10

For Nick’s 4th birthday (a few weeks ago) I tagged along with him, Warren and

their mom for a fun afternoon down on the farm.

It was such a beautiful day and we got so many great pictures, I decided that I needed

to make a mini album for Nick.

Nick's Mini Album

Nick’s album was made using the flexible pouches that I got this month in my Deflecto Design Team

box.  As soon as I saw these flexible pouches I thought “mini albums”.

Deflecto Flexible Pouch

I love how easy the album was to put together.

  • The inside of the pouch measures 3″ x 5 1/4″ so I chose pictures that could easily be cut down.
  • To cover the top of the pouch I used orange washi tape and stamped it with a crackle stamp and black stazon ink.
  • I marked my holes and re-punched with a standard 1/4″ office hole punch.
  • The charm on the ribbon was made using a 1″ circle punch, pumpkin scrapbook paper, a flat bottle cap, 1″ clear domed glass for jewelry making.

Getting ready for a Craft Bazaar?

Cinnamon Cookie Ornament

Today I’m putting the finishing touches on the one and only craft show I do all year.

My house still smells great from these Cinnamon Cookie Ornaments.Altered VersaGrip Magnetic Sign Holder

This month’s Deflect’o Design Team box was perfect in helping me get ready for the show.

I love this flexible, magnetic sign holder.  I wanted to give the holder a little vintage flair

so I sponged “Spiced Chai” Stazon ink to the base and wrapped the base with a

pine stem.  A little washi tape, ribbon and red jingle bell (of course) and my display

stand was finished.  I love that it sticks perfectly onto my metal mini cupcake tin.

Getting ready for that time of year again…

I know, I know… Many of you may think I might be rushing this a little bit.

But… as a designer and crafter I’m starting to feel a time crunch.

So many projects, so little time.  (time’s a wasting)

Christmas Crafting 2

Something I look forward to getting every month is my box of goodies from Deflecto.

Getting this box is like receiving a Christmas present.

So thoughtfully packed with colored tissue paper.

I really need to take of picture of the box. (so much fun)

This months box was stuffed full of storage and organizing products.

One of the many cool storage products I received from Deflecto Craft Solutions was this

great carousel organizer.  This particular carousel has nine canisters, six 3″ and three 6″.

The carousel spins and is a great place to store all my holiday embellishments in one place.

I also received some great storage cubes, which made me want/need to reorganize my studio.

With all the things I collect (I mean use) I needed more.

Deflecto generously offered to send me some more cubes.  (you’ve got to love that!)

I will post more pictures of my organizing efforts after they arrive.

Refrigerator Magnets

Another cool “NEW, COMING SOON” product is the:  Customizable Magnetic Craft Sheets

White magnetic sheets can be painted or papered. Cuts easily with scissors or craft punches.
Great for kids projects
.

magnet sheets

I decided to make “refrigerator art” using my magnetic sheets.

I covered the white side of the magnetic sheet with decorative paper and cut it out with a die-cut.
