DIY Holiday Inspiration Station

Holiday Inspiration Station

Tis the Season to be Crafting….

It’s November, time to turn on the Holiday movies and start making your lists.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year to be creative.

Inspire Creativity…

It’s easy to promote creativity over the Holidays with a DIY Holiday Inspiration Station.

Set up a little spot in the house to spark a little inspiration for the whole family.

I used the large Deflecto 3 Drawer Organizer* as the center of my station.

It’s large enough to hold full sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper and room for tags, ribbon and more.

It’s stackable for even more creativity.

This is one of my new favorites for organizing embellishments.

The Caddy Storage Tray* from Deflecto.

And best of all it fits into the large compartment of the Deflecto Stacking Caddy Organizer*.

Joy Shadow Box Tray

A simple Shadow Box that would be cute as Holiday Décor or used as a gift.

The “Happy Holidays” graphic would be cute replaced with a Holiday photo.

This project also uses a simple paint technique for old hardware.

Here’s what I used for my Shadow Box Tray:

Tips to make your project easier:

  • Add Snowy effect by flicking white acrylic paint onto the pine craft stem using an old paintbrush.

  • Paint the brass hardware with black spray paint.  Once the paint is dry, rub Rose Gold Metallic Lustre over hardware for an aged vintage look.

  • For a cohesive look…rub Rose Gold Metallic Lustre onto the chipboard letters and the wood disc on the tree.
  • Cut the back of the bottle brush tree flat so that it fits snuggly into the tray.

This project was sponsored by Canvas Corp Brands and DecoArts.

And then, just like that… it was over.

Sue’s Holiday Workshop is the start to all my favorite Christmas activities.

It’s something that I look forward to every year.

Just like Christmas, so much time and thought goes into planning.

And then… just like that, it’s over.

I was so lucky to be able to spend the day with these lovely ladies last Saturday.

They are such a fun and special group.  I appreciate each and everyone of them.

This year, I believe…the Frosted Winter Window was their favorite project.

I know it was mine.

As always… I intend on taking a lot of pictures.  (but, I get too busy and forget.)

Always a fun day!  Till next year.

Thanks Again Ladies!

How to make a Holly Jolly Flip Album…

Holly Jolly Flip Book

I wanted to share with you today one of my favorite projects from my Holiday Workshop

last Saturday.  It is the “Holly Jolly Flip Album” using paper from Canvas Corp Brands

Farmhouse Christmas Collection and a 5″ x 7″ Black Acrylic Frame from Deflecto Craft Solutions.

It’s a fairly simple project and the ladies were able to complete the album in just a couple of hours.

everyone working hard

Everyone hard at work.

I host Sue’s Holiday Workshop in my church’s Family Life Center.  It is a big, beautiful, well lit space.

Look at all the space we have to work with.  Lots of room to spread out and no one was cramped.

A Special Thank You to everyone who attended.  I had a really good time.
