“Hello Autumn” a Fall Dollar Tree DIY

"Hello Autumn" a Fall Dollar Tree DIY

Hello Autumn Home Decor Sign

is an easy Fall Dollar Tree DIY.

With all the beautiful new Fall items on display everywhere you go,

I decided it was time to start working on my fall decorating.

I found this Harvest Pumpkin Hanging Wooden Circle Sign* at Dollar Tree*.

It measures approximately 11″.

I knew it would be a great piece to hang on a wreath

or to use in my Fall decorating.

I used acrylic paint to paint the pumpkin and leaves.

Just follow the etched lines of the leaves.

I blended my paint for a more realistic look.

Rub over the wood sign with walnut stain* or ink.

Use Mod Podge Satin Sealer* to give the sign a satin finish.

Lightly rub over the sign with an extra fine sanding block* to smooth the grains.

Place vinyl transfer paper over the words.

Rub over the words using a vinyl scraper tool to help

the vinyl cling to the Vinyl Transfer Tape*.

Place the Vinyl Transfer Tape* onto the wood circle.

Gently rub over the design and remove the Vinyl Transfer Tape*.

The sign has two holes on the top for hanging.

I added a simple bow to the top between the two holes.

It would look great in the center of a Large Fall Wreath.

I can’t decide whether to leave it on the table or add it to the mantle.

(Maybe I’ll just hang it from the wreath.)

DIY Inspirational Trays

Looking for a Quick and Easy DIY Gift Idea?

These Inspiration Trays are Special End of the Year Teacher Gifts.

My sister works at a private Christian school and asked me to

help her personalize gifts for a couple of special co-workers.

She’s a great gift giver and likes to give thoughtful gifts.

(Each teacher was asked to fill out a survey of things they

liked including their favorite scripture verse.)

  • To start the project, she picked out a couple of Unfinished Wood Trays*
  • The bottom of the tray was painted white and lightly sanded before adding the vinyl scripture.
  • We measured the inside of the tray to determine the size of the scripture we wanted to use.

There are so many great colors of StyleTechCraft Glossy Craft Vinyl to choose from.

  • Remove the vinyl from its white protective layer and place onto the center of the tray.

  • Rub over the vinyl with the scraper tool to transfer the vinyl onto the tray.
  • Gently lift the transfer paper from the vinyl.

FYI…the transfer paper is reusable.

We noticed after the trays were finished that we had somehow

missed the two dots on the Esther verse.

We were able to easily recreate the dots and add them to

the finished tray.  I think they turned out great!

In addition to the finished tray, the gift included greenery, a candle, and a jar of “love notes” from the students.

The kindergarten students were asked what they loved about their teacher.

I didn’t get a chance to read them, but I’m sure they were interesting.

Mini Treat Jars for Fall Parties

Mini Treat Jars for Fall

Impress your guests with this quick and easy table favor.

Create the perfect extra touch for your next Fall party or Get-Together.

I found these adorable mini mason jars at Michaels the other day and fell in love.

If you know me at all, you know I love anything miniature.

I just knew they would be perfect for filling with little treats.

To create the label for the jar…I used a Silhouette Cameo Electronic Die Cutting Machine*

and StyleTechCraft Orange and Bronze Luster Vinyl* to cut out the cute “Hello Fall” SVG file

from Jillibean Soup.   I used my StyleTechCraft weeding tool to remove the background pieces

of my image.  I transferred the “Hello Fall” label using StyleTechCraft Grid Transfer Tape*

After filling the jar with wrapped caramels…

I wrapped the rim on the jar with twine and tied on a small tag.

I glued a paper marigold (which I found at Hobby Lobby) on the top of the jar.

Cute little party favors to place by each guests plate.

My project is part of the Fall Blog Hop with Designer Craft Connection and StyleTechCraft vinyl.

Happy New Year 2018

Happy New Year 1249

By the time we get through all the Christmas Festivities and Parties….

I’m ready to stay in and eat pizza by the time New Year’s Eve comes along.

Relaxing and low key is the answer.

We may even toast the New Year, that is if he’s still awake.

Even though we’re not having a big party, Party Hats are always fun.

I must have been really good this year…

because Santa brought me a new Silhouette CAMEO 3 Wireless Cutting Machine*

I used my new present to whip up some simple party hats

Happy New Years-Sue's Creative Workshop-www.sueeldred.com 1203

I used two strips of Ultra FX Glitter Vinyl from Styletech and laid them side by side.

I made sure my fonts lined up so that I could cut both colors at the same time.

  • I also cut a large mat shape from black cardstock and a slightly smaller mat shape using silver metallic vinyl.
  • I used the transfer paper to remove all the letters at once and laid them onto my shiny mat to create my hat.
  • I cut the bottom section of the mat shape and added a small strip of vinyl for extra decoration.  I created a band for my hat from two strips of cardstock and stuck the “happy new year” mat on the front.  (pretty simple)

Now it’s a party.  (well sort of)
