Just another day on the farm…

For Nick’s 4th birthday (a few weeks ago) I tagged along with him, Warren and

their mom for a fun afternoon down on the farm.

It was such a beautiful day and we got so many great pictures, I decided that I needed

to make a mini album for Nick.

Nick’s album was made using the flexible pouches that I got this month in my Deflecto Design Team

box. As soon as I saw these flexible pouches I thought “mini albums”.

I love how easy the album was to put together.

The inside of the pouch measures 3″ x 5 1/4″ so I chose pictures that could easily be cut down.
To cover the top of the pouch I used orange washi tape and stamped it with a crackle stamp and black stazon ink.
I marked my holes and re-punched with a standard 1/4″ office hole punch.
The charm on the ribbon was made using a 1″ circle punch, pumpkin scrapbook paper, a flat bottle cap, 1″ clear domed glass for jewelry making.

Getting ready for a Craft Bazaar?

Today I’m putting the finishing touches on the one and only craft show I do all year.

My house still smells great from these Cinnamon Cookie Ornaments. Altered VersaGrip Magnetic Sign Holder

This month’s Deflect’o Design Team box was perfect in helping me get ready for the show.

I love this flexible, magnetic sign holder. I wanted to give the holder a little vintage flair

so I sponged “Spiced Chai” Stazon ink to the base and wrapped the base with a

pine stem. A little washi tape, ribbon and red jingle bell (of course) and my display

stand was finished. I love that it sticks perfectly onto my metal mini cupcake tin.

Best Friends Mini Album

Remember being in Junior High when your best friends were the most important thing?

Here’s a mini album that’s perfect for capturing life’s special little memories.

It’s also the perfect size to hold all those school pictures the kids are starting to hand out.

The album measures only 3″. (how cute it that?)

Getting ready for that time of year again…

I know, I know… Many of you may think I might be rushing this a little bit.

But… as a designer and crafter I’m starting to feel a time crunch.

So many projects, so little time. (time’s a wasting)

Something I look forward to getting every month is my box of goodies from Deflecto.

Getting this box is like receiving a Christmas present.

So thoughtfully packed with colored tissue paper.

I really need to take of picture of the box. (so much fun)

This months box was stuffed full of storage and organizing products.

One of the many cool storage products I received from Deflecto Craft Solutions was this

great carousel organizer. This particular carousel has nine canisters, six 3″ and three 6″.

The carousel spins and is a great place to store all my holiday embellishments in one place.

I also received some great storage cubes, which made me want/need to reorganize my studio.

With all the things I collect (I mean use) I needed more.

Deflecto generously offered to send me some more cubes. (you’ve got to love that!)

I will post more pictures of my organizing efforts after they arrive.

Another cool “NEW, COMING SOON” product is the: Customizable Magnetic Craft Sheets

White magnetic sheets can be painted or papered. Cuts easily with scissors or craft punches.
Great for kids projects.

I decided to make “refrigerator art” using my magnetic sheets.

I covered the white side of the magnetic sheet with decorative paper and cut it out with a die-cut.

Grandkids are Blessings

I have two adorable grandsons who are just the sweetest little guys.

I just love being around these two. So many smiles, hugs and lots and lots of love.

Being a grandma is Wonderful. (Although I’m sure I don’t look old enough to be a grandma)

Castle Fit for a Princess

With the song “Let it Go, Let it Go…” stuck in my head,

I channeled my inner princess to make this “Frozen” inspired album.

Making the album is easy. Getting the song out of your head, not so easy.

Supplies Used:

Sandcastle Chipboard Album 7″X9″-5-Pages/No Rings
White and China Blue Apple Barrel acrylic Paint
Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue
Felt Snowflakes
White Liquid Applique
Heat Tool
Blue Adhesive Rhinestones
Paintbrush
Washi Tape
Trinket Pin
Post It Notes
Craft Glue
Silver Book Rings

Directions:

Coat the entire album with two coats of White acrylic paint.
Mask off sections of the castle with post it notes to create crisp lines and paint with China Blue acrylic paint.
Apply Liquid Applique around tops of the roof and around windows to replicate snow.
Heat Liquid Applique with heat tool.
Paint entire album with Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue.
Glue snowflakes onto front of album.
Make flags from washi tape and stick directly into the chipboard.

Now you’ve got that song stuck in your head! (Don’t you?)

Their Special Day…

One of the Big surprises of the summer was the wedding of my sweet niece and her new husband.

I am so happy for them. They make a great couple and they look so cute together.

My last design team assignment for The Paper Forest was Simple Stories: The Story of Us.

Once I saw the collection I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use.

I appreciate my niece sharing her photo’s and allowing me to scrapbook her special day.

“Dream Big, the Sky is the Limit” …with Clear Scraps and Imagine Crafts

My “Dream Big… the sky is the limit” tag features a clear acrylic butterfly from Clear Scraps along with a variety of StazOn Inks for a wonderful effect. I love how the ink works so well with acrylic. And… that Wedding Dress irrRESISTible colored textured spray, LOVE!!!

Products Used:

Butterflies Embellishments (Clear Scraps)
Stazon Inks: Orange Zest, St. Valentine, Spiced Chai, Jet Black, Blue Hawaii (Imagine Crafts)
Wedding Dress irRESISTible colored textured spray (Imagine Crafts)
GlazOn (Imagine Crafts)
L751 Marbled Background (Serendipity Stamps)
“Hello Sunshine” 6 1/2″ Paper Pad (Kaisercraft)
Alpha & Word Stickers Teal (My Minds Eye)
2″ circle punch
Kraft cardstock tag
white acrylic paint and paintbrush
ribbon and trim
sponge
black cardstock
adhesive tape runner

Directions:

Dab with a sponge, Orange Zest and St. Valentine’s inks onto the clear butterfly. (allow to dry)
Ink marble background with jet black ink and stamp directly onto the butterfly.
Paint the center of the kraft cardstock tag with white acrylic paint.
Gently rub with a soft craft sponge Spiced Chai ink around the edges of the tag.
Spray surface of the tag with Wedding Dress irRESISTible colored textured spray. (allow to dry)
Lay circle onto tag to use as a mask. Gently sponge Blue Hawaii ink around circle.
Layer and adhere tag onto a piece of black cardstock.
Add strips of scrapbook paper with the edges inked onto bottom of tag.
Glue butterfly onto tag using GlazOn.
Finish embellishing tag with ribbon, trim and word stickers.
