Stitched Sampler

Stitched Sampler

I hate throwing anything away that might possibly be used on a project later.

In an effort to make room and not become a hoarder,

I actually threw these little scraps of fabric away.   (It was hard, I love these prints.)

But…Only minutes later, while I was making a permanent home for my new sewing machine

that I got for Christmas,  (thanks Nick and Bonnie) I got the idea to make a stitched sampler.

What a great use for little pieces of fabric.

Now, bear in mind that this is my first real project on my new machine.

Stitched Sampler Close Up

I misted the iron-on embroidered letters from Joy SA and the white decorative trim with

Tattered Angels Ruby Slipper Chalkboard Mist Paint and stitched to my hearts desire.

I cut a large die-cut square out of premium gray felt using my Accu-cut machine.

I’m pretty please with the way it turned out.

add a little LOVE in the bathroom

Add a little love in the bathroom 3442

When I was little, my Grandma B loved to sing the song “Let me Call You Sweetheart” to us kids.

It’s a sweet song endeared to my heart.

So… while decorating the house for Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d show my family a little love

by adding a cute embellished hand towel in the powder room.

A perfect way to let them how much they’re loved.

Let me call you sweetheart towel supplies

It’s easy! Use mini Joy embroidered letters to iron-on your message and then sew on a simple lace trim.

Let it Snow Canvas…

Sue Eldred's Let It Snow

After all the Holiday Decorations are down, I like to decorate the house with a Winter theme.

Even though I may not like the cold winter months.

I still find beauty in a blanket of newly fallen snow.

So “Let it Snow”.  (just not too much)

  3. Glue lace and ribbon onto the canvas, wrapping and gluing ends around on the back of the canvas.
  4. Gather up silver berries and greenery, tie them together with a jingle bell and satin ribbon and glue to the bottom corner of the canvas.

Merry Christmas Gift Bag

Merry Christmas Gift Bag 1186

Make your Christmas Gift Bags a little more special with iron-on letters from Joy.

Merry Christmas Gift Bag Supplies

Start with a plain drawstring bag.  (Mine was from Canvas Corp.)

Replace the drawstring cording on the bag with red and white gingham ribbon and add iron-on

letters in red and neon yellow.  (in person the neon yellow looked lime to me)

Merry Christmas Gift Bag Flat 1140

Glue white lace, rick rack, buttons and a small wreath to the front of the bag.

For a truly personalized gift add a name instead of Merry Christmas.

Warren’s Masterpiece

Warren's Masterpiece

I love watching little kids as they create.

At almost two, Warren doesn’t always get to use markers.

He just quietly worked on his Masterpiece for at least 10 minutes or more.

Just happy creating.

I wish I had that freedom.  (my head gets in the way)

My Masterpiece

For Warren’s frame I decorated a clear flat acrylic frame from Deflecto Craft Solutions by adding a

couple strips of Washi Tape along with some Lime Green Iron-on Letters from Joy SA Inc.

I glued the letters onto the frame (since I couldn’t iron them) and added a couple magnet strips

to the back.

My Masterpiece 9759

Warren was so proud of his Masterpiece.

Ready for the first day of Pre-School

First Day of Preschool

Because starting Pre-School is a really Big Deal…

I wanted to make my Grandson Nick a special shirt to wear on the first day.

At first, I had all kinds of silly and corny ideas…

in the end I thought maybe I should make one he’d actually wear more than once.

Thanks to some Pinterest Inspiration.

I came up with “Class of 2029”.   Sounds kind of futuristic doesn’t it?

Nick’s mommy liked it so much she wanted me to make one for his little brother.
