Decoupage Halloween Treat Bowl

Smoothfoam Halloween Treat Bowl with Watermark

I made this decoupage Halloween Treat Bowl with the help of my 4-year-old grandson, Nick.  (It may or may not have gone a little quicker without his help.)  Since Halloween is for the kids anyway, it didn’t matter if the paper was perfectly smooth.

Confession:  I’m a little bit of a craft hoarder.  (neatly contained though)  I have been hanging onto this Martha Stewart Halloween tissue paper for a few years.  I guess I’ve been waiting for just the perfect project like this one.

Smoothfoam Halloween Treat Bowl Products with Watermark

To make the project you’re going to need a few simple ingredients:

  • 12″ Smoothfoam half-ball
  • Mod Podge Gloss Lustre
  • Halloween-themed tissue paper
  • Foam Brush or Small Paintbrush
  • Eager 4-year-old  (optional)

Cut the tissue paper into small squares.  I started with 3″ squares and added some random sizes. Decoupage the tissue paper onto the half ball with Mod Podge

Smoothfoam Halloween Treat Bowl Bottom

Tip:  For my bowl, I started on the bottom and worked my way up.  At the time, I thought it was a good idea. By the time I got to the top of the bowl I was getting a little more random in how I placed my tissue paper. Next time I think I’ll start at the top of the bowl and work my way down. I really like the way the bottom turned out.

Fill with treats and enjoy.  (don’t forget to buy an extra bag or two for yourself)

Best Friends Mini Album

Clear Scraps My Mind's Eye Best Friends Mini Album

Remember being in Junior High when your best friends were the most important thing?

Here’s a mini album that’s perfect for capturing life’s special little memories.

It’s also the perfect size to hold all those school pictures the kids are starting to hand out.

The album measures only 3″.  (how cute it that?)

Getting ready for that time of year again…

I know, I know… Many of you may think I might be rushing this a little bit.

But… as a designer and crafter I’m starting to feel a time crunch.

So many projects, so little time.  (time’s a wasting)

Christmas Crafting 2

Something I look forward to getting every month is my box of goodies from Deflecto.

Getting this box is like receiving a Christmas present.

So thoughtfully packed with colored tissue paper.

I really need to take of picture of the box. (so much fun)

This months box was stuffed full of storage and organizing products.

One of the many cool storage products I received from Deflecto Craft Solutions was this

great carousel organizer.  This particular carousel has nine canisters, six 3″ and three 6″.

The carousel spins and is a great place to store all my holiday embellishments in one place.

I also received some great storage cubes, which made me want/need to reorganize my studio.

With all the things I collect (I mean use) I needed more.

Deflecto generously offered to send me some more cubes.  (you’ve got to love that!)

I will post more pictures of my organizing efforts after they arrive.

Refrigerator Magnets

Another cool “NEW, COMING SOON” product is the:  Customizable Magnetic Craft Sheets

White magnetic sheets can be painted or papered. Cuts easily with scissors or craft punches.
Great for kids projects

I decided to make “refrigerator art” using my magnetic sheets.

I covered the white side of the magnetic sheet with decorative paper and cut it out with a die-cut.

Grandkids are Blessings

Grandkids are Blessings Layout with Truck

I have two adorable grandsons who are just the sweetest little guys.

I just love being around these two.  So many smiles, hugs and lots and lots of love.

Being a grandma is Wonderful.  (Although I’m sure I don’t look old enough to be a grandma)

My Grandkids are definitely a Blessing.

The “Grandkids are Blessings” Layout was made with:          (*affiliate link)

Tip:  I sprayed the Irresistible Texture sprays fairly thick on the front of the word “blessings” and allowed a couple of hours to dry before adhering to my page with Glaz On.

This project was created for and sponsored by Clear Scraps.

Fun & Easy Felt Projects to make her smile.

Pretty Little Dress Up Purse

Today I’m sharing a couple of Fun & Easy Felt Projects that is sure to make her smile.

Kunin Challenge

I was recently sent a variety of felt from Kunin along with some great glues from

Beacon Adhesives and buttons from Buttons Galore & More

for a Designer Craft Connection September Blog Hop. Pretty little Purse Collage

My First Project is a cute little dress up purse made with just three pieces of felt.

Directions:

  1. Glue the edges of two pieces of felt together with Fabri Tac glue from Beacon Adhesives.
  2. Fold over in thirds and glue sides together.  (see above picture)  Binder clips works great to keep everything secure while drying.
  3. Glue a piece of lace to the underneath side of the felt flap.
  4. Cut a button-hole and sew on a big black button.
  5. Cut 8 small petal shapes from Black Glitterfelt™.
  6. Simply quick stitch the petals together. (see above picture)
  7. Gather both ends of the thread together and tie with a knot.
  8. Glue a Fancy Button from Buttons Galore & More into the center to finish off the flower.  My button was originally gold.  I used a silver paint pen on my button to make it silver.
  9. Glue finished flower onto flap of purse.
  10. Punch a couple of holes on each side of the purse with a Crop-a-dile punch and string black cording for the handle.

Felt Heart

Did you know that you can easily die-cut felt?

The love heart pillow was made using White Classicfelt™ and Princess Hearts Fancifelt™ with a large heart die and alphabet dies.  One side of the heart has the white felt, the other has the Princess Hearts felt.  I cut one of the small hearts from the Princess Hearts felt to use as my “o”.  The pink flower on top was made the same as the above black glitter flower except that I used 6 petals instead of 8.

Creative Ideas using Craft Frames by deflecto

Deflecto Craft Badge (1) team badge

I recently started working with a new company called Deflecto.  Some of you may recognize the name Deflecto from dryer vents or bicycle reflectors. (among many other things)   Deflecto now has Craft Storage Solutions.  Providing solutions to stay organized so you can concentrate on your projects not your clutter.  (and that’s always a good thing)

Deflecto Craft Frames 2

Each month Deflect-o will send me something new to play with.  This month, I’m getting creative using their Craft Frames.

September Calendar

Call me silly, but, this has to be my favorite frame so far.
This frame is not just a clear 8 1/2″ x 11″ acrylic frame.  It is flat backed and comes with heavy-duty magnets, velcro and a push pins attachment so that it can go on a fridge, wall or even a bulletin board.  They’ve thought of everything.

For my frame, I went with the velcro and have it attached inside my office cabinet.  I’m always losing my Editorial/ Blog calendar on my desk among piles.  Now I can find it, take it down and update it anytime I want.

Look Listen Create Enjoy

I like that this frame comes with a black edge.  I added some personal inspiration with scrapbook paper and stickers.

Note Holder w scrapbook paper  Note Holder Clear

The purple frame I made into a girly Post It Note Holder.  The second picture shows the frame clear with no paper scrapbook paper added.  I’m not sure which one I like the best.

Holiday Joy

How about this mini 2″ x 3″ frame decked out for the Holidays. (too cute right?)

I think I’m going to really enjoy working with this company and all their Crafty Storage Solutions.

I love being organized and this will work out great.
