Shine from Within Mini Tag Album

Shine from within Mini Tag Album…

I love the sweet pastels of Graphic 45’s Garden Goddess Collection*, it just screams Spring.

So…after using the Garden Goddess paper pad on a special project (coming soon),

I decided to make a Mini Tag Album with the remaining paper.

When it comes to making Mini Albums I like using the Xyron Creative Station*

because you get complete coverage, no wrinkling, no bubbles!

And…your album stays together!!!

How to make the Mini Tag Album                                 (*amazon affiliate link)

  • Lay decorative scrapbook paper (design side up) on the  *Xyron Creative Station* crank the handle to run the paper through the machine.  As it moves through the Xyron Creative Station it adds adhesive to the back side of the paper.  Easy to use and it doesn’t need electricity.
  •  Cut two pieces of chipboard to use as the front and back of the mini album.  Cover the front and back of both pieces of chipboard with the decorative scrapbook paper.
  • Cut covered chipboard using a Tag die-cut or cut into a simple rectangle tag shape.
  • Because the chipboard is tan and the core of the paper is white, I inked the edges of the pages with  Vintage Photo Distress Ink*and a ink blending tool*.

  • Adhere the smaller graphic in the center of the tag front to a piece of chipboard for added dimension.
  • Cut two small circles and adhere to the metal rim tag.  Cut a new hole on the top of the tag.
  • Embellish the front of the tag album using bits and pieces from the Garden Goddess Paper Pad.
  • Glue flower embellishment to front of mini tag album cover using craft glue.

  • Cut extra tag pages and small tags for the inside of the mini tag album.
  • Assemble the mini tag album using a small book ring.

Creating a Mini Album with Xyron

Creating a Mini Album using the Xyron Creative Station…

This week the Xyron Design Team was asked to post about our favorite Xyron Product.

With so many wonderful Xyron items to choose from it was a hard decision.

When it comes to making Mini Albums, Tags and Altered Home Décor pieces,

the Xyron Creative Station* is hands down my favorite product to use.

When I go to the effort to create, I don’t want my projects falling apart.

With the Xyron Creative Station* you get complete coverage, no gluing, no wrinkling,

no bubbles!  There are so many refill cartridge options available in both the 9″ and 5″ sizes.

To make my Mini Albums…

  • I use chipboard or mat board for the base of my Mini Album and cut it to my preferred size.
  • I cut decorative scrapbook paper to fit onto the base.
  • Put the paper design side up on the  *Xyron Creative Station, 9″ crank the handle to run the paper through the machine.  As it moves through the Xyron Creative Station it adds adhesive to the back side of the paper.  Easy to use and it doesn’t need any electricity.
  • Line up the paper onto the chipboard.

  • Create extra pages for the inside of the Mini Album using cardstock or coordinating scrapbook paper.
  • Bind the album together using a Book Binding Machine*.
  • Embellish the front of the album with frames, flowers, charms, stickers and ribbon.

  • I created a frame for the cover using chipboard and scrapbook paper and cutting it out using a steel rule die.
  • You can run the frame through the Xyron Creative Station* also.
  • The Creative Station makes quick work of putting my Mini Album together.

The paper used on my Mini Album was from Simple Stories Merry & Bright Collection*

Christmas Magic Mini Tag Album

How to Create a Christmas Magic Mini Tag Album…

I decided to create a mini tag album using the left over paper and stickers from my

Creating A Miniature “Christmas Magic” Room with Graphic 45 and Xyron  project.

It’s a cute way to show off a few of your favorite holiday photos.  (It  also makes a nice gift.)

How to make a Christmas Magic Mini Tag Album                                 (*amazon affiliate link)

  • Create a chipboard tag by running two pieces of  Graphic 45 Christmas Magic* paper through the Xyron Creative Station*.  Cover both sides of the chipboard with the paper.
  • Cut Chipboard using a Tag die-cut to use as the front and back cover of the album.
  • Accent the edges of the covers using a Gold DecoColor Paint Pen*.
  • Create small tags by placing a sticker on a small piece of chipboard.  Add a coordinating piece of paper onto the back of the small tag.  Trim around tags.
  • Cut extra tag pages using the die-cut and Christmas Magic paper.

  • Embellish the cover with stickers, ribbon, wood snowflake, jingle bell and additional tags.
  • Add a medium sized book ring to hold the album together.

Tropical Vacation Mini Album

Who’s ready for a Tropical Vacation?

Many, many years ago, I met my sweetie while visiting the island of Oahu.

Twelve years ago we went back.  (I’m thinking we’re long overdue.)

I need a tropical vacation!

This week, the Xyron Design Team teamed up with Die Cuts with a View.

I received the Electric Jungle Paper Pad, a bright and colorful collection.

For my project, I decided to make a mini album.  I’m not sure if I’ll use the really old, kind of old

or wait until I get new pictures to place inside the album.  (hint, hint!)

  • Cut paper to fit the pages of the chipboard album.
  • Lay decorative scrapbook paper (design side up) on the  *Xyron Creative Station, 9″ crank the handle to run the paper through the machine.  As it moves through the Xyron Creative Station it adds adhesive to the back side of the paper.
  • Easy to use and it doesn’t need any electricity.
  • I like using the Xyron Creative Station* when making mini books because you get complete coverage, no wrinkling, no bubbles!

  • Once the pages are covered with the paper, use a craft knife and cutting mat to trim around the edges of the chipboard.
  • Use the XYRON Adhesive Eraser* to remove any extra adhesive from the edges.
  • Gently sand away rough cut edges on the paper using a extra fine sanding block.
  • Because the chipboard is tan and the core of the paper is white, I inked the edges of the pages with a light tan ink and a ink blending tool.
  • I created thick tags by using a tag cut from the paper pad and adhering it onto a small piece of chipboard.  I used a gold calligraphy paint marker to create a gold border around the edge of the tag.
  • The “Palm Tree” and “Relax” on the front of the mini album both have chipboard underneath to create added dimension.

Directions:

  1. Make two marks on the top of the frame approximately 3/4″ in on each side.  The marks need to be approx. 1/2″ down from the top of the frame.  (If the holes go down too far the pages won’t flip correctly.)  Drill two holes in the top of the frame with a 3/16″ drill bit.
  2. For the mini album cover…Adhere a 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ scrapbook paper strip onto the top of the corrugated paper leaving a 1/8″ margin on the top.  Adhere the 3″ x 4″ journaling card (cut from the scrapbook paper) onto a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of blue scrapbook paper layer, add those layers onto the corrugated paper and then onto a 4″ x 6″ black cardstock layer.
  3. Using the drilled holes on the craft frame as a guide, mark the cover and the kraft cardstock pages and punch two holes on the top.
  4. Mark and punch holes into a piece of 4″ x 6″ decorative scrapbook paper and insert into frame.
  5. Attach cover and pages to the craft frame with book rings.
  6. Tie ivory ribbon around cover.

Bon Voyage Vacation Album with Canvas Corp Brands

Sue Eldred's Canvas Corp Brands Bon Voyage Album 6195

My Vacation Bon Voyage album uses a lot of fun papers and embellishments from

Canvas Corp Brands Bon Voyage Collection.  The album was made using the Banner Board Kit

covered with various scrapbook paper.

Sue Eldred's Canvas Corp Brands Bon Voyage Album Close Up 6221

To make “Our Vacation” stand out, I glued the words from the scrapbook paper onto a piece of chipboard and cut around the oval.  I used black ink around the edges of the chipboard.  I did the same with the “Carte Postale”.   This gives the album dimension and added interest.

I love using the Paris Charms and simply tied the Eiffel Tower (with added jump ring) onto the ribbon.

I created an extra page for the book using a black fluted paper and cardstock.  I decorated the page with additional paper, cut outs and a cute little 3″ x 3″ cream envelope.  The bathing beauty comes from the American Vintage: Vintage Photo’s pack.
